Girls Soccer Kicks Off

Lorie Machado, Reporter

Our soccer season began January 12 and in the opening tournament game, the Lady Tors went up against Clear Brook. After giving up a goal, sophomore Scarlett Paz Vallecillo assisted junior Miliani Arriaga to tie it up at one apiece. The game ended at 1-1 so both teams left the field unsatisfied.

The Lady Tors fell 0-4 against Fort Bend Bush on Jan. 13 in tournament play. The following day our Lady Tors lost 0-6 against Pasadena. Tuesday the team plays its final tournament game from the past weekend.

Friday night at Alvin, our Lady Tors came back from down 0-2 at halftime to tie the game 2-2. Goals came from sophomore Sophia Diaz and senior Meryllen Perez Escobar, with an assist from junior Suany Lainez.

The first week of soccer was exciting and we continue to look forward to the rest of the season and, we hope, the playoffs!
