Viking Rise From the Ashes

The Norsemen, also known as Vikings, were a race of traders, pirates, and explorers from the 9th to the 11th century who plundered Western Europe and Scandinavia. As well as experts at crafting and fighting, they also erected buildings, some of them quite large, like their most impressive structures, the Viking Halls.
Recently a 1,000-year-old Viking Hall was discovered near the village of Hune in Denmark that reached 40 meters tall and about 8-10 meters wide. “And it’s not just a slightly larger house than average, because the hall has been a prestigious building which, in addition to having more everyday function, has probably also been a prestigious building which, in addition to more everyday function, has probably also been a gathering place for political meetings and large Viking guilds.” Dr. Thomas Rune Knudsen said. The design of the hall closely resembles houses located at Harald Bluetooth’s ring castles, with this information including other clues scientists have figured out that the hall can be dated to the late Viking age.
“We only had the opportunity to excavate part of the hall, but there are probably several houses hidden under the ground to the east,” Dr. Knudsen said.
