The Ball High Tors have been on fire to start the season. They exploded out the gate with three quick wins against Manvel, Texas City, and Friendswood. Sport a record of 3-0.
In the first game versus Manvel, Ball High won 54-26. Five-star UT commit Jonah Williams went off this game scoring five touchdowns, one of them an 86-yard kickoff return at the start of the game. He also recorded six tackles, two pass deflections, and a blocked extra point.
Manvel also had an opening kickoff return to start the game and more good plays but it wasn’t enough to beat our dominating Tors.
The following week our Tors hosted their archrivals the Texas City Stingarees and held the Stingarees to minus 24 yards rushing on the ground. The Tors opening drive ended in a touchdown with an 18-yard completion from Kyden Baker to Jonah Williams.
Juwaan Woodbury’s interception of Clyde Votaw gave the ball back to the Tors and they marched 54-yards and scored with a 4- yard touchdown pass to London Deyon in the back of the endzone. The tors closed out the scoring with a 56-yard bomb to Woodbury.
“They played real well, I completely trust my defensive coaching staff. They do a great job of having them ready to play,” said Tors coach Sheldon Bennight.
In the third game of the season, the Tors traveled to Friendswood to take on the Mustangs and blew them out, the final score 33-7.
QB Kyden Baker had a fantastic game passing for 249 yards and 3 TDs, his main targets Sam Houston commit London Deyon had 7 receptions for 91 yards with a touchdown and JR Juwaan Woodbury with 4 receptions for 85 yards. The Tors defense continues to stay hot, holding the Mustangs to one touchdown.
This Friday, Sept. 20th, our Tors host Port Arthur at Courville Stadium in hopes to keep the winning streak alive.
