A Frontier Airlines passenger jet from the San Diego International Airport found itself in the middle of landing in Las Vegas when the pilots detected smoke coming from the plane and announced an emergency landing at Harry Reid International Airport
. Videos of the plane showed flames shooting out from under the aircraft and a trail of smoke behind the jet. The smoke billowed from below the aircraft and near the wheel housing.
Airport officials said the plane landed hard and blew its tires, causing the resulting fire and smoke.
All the 190 passengers, including the few crew members that were on board, landed safely. No injuries were reported. The cause of the flames and smoke remains unknown as the investigation continues.
