Ball High’s Homecoming week began Sunday night with “Light up the Night,” held in the school parking lot and ended with the big homecoming dance held in the Ball High Cafeteria the following weekend.
Homecoming week, one of the most highly anticipated events of the school year, with the excitement of dressing up as a new theme every day, voting for Homecoming court, the big game, all leading up to the night where everyone gets to dress to the Ts and dance the night away.
This year’s Homecoming was one for the books, with themes “Flashbacks to 2000” “Surfers vs. Bikers” “Athletes vs Mathletes” “Predator vs Prey” and the last day being the big TORS Spirit Day, to fill the school with pride and encouraging our football players for their big game.
The game turned out to be one for the ages and the record books, a quadruple overtime loss to Barbers Hill. Lasting until well past 11pm, this year’s Homecoming game, filled with incredible plays sending the score back and forth between the teams. The teams went to four overtimes, and although we lost, the team played an amazing game in every facet of football: offense, defense, special teams. Our Tors played extremely well.
At halftime, Ms. Cormier revealed the Homecoming Court, King Jonah Williams and Queen Danyti Allen. This year’s dance theme, “Starry Night,” after Vahn Gogh’s famous painting, transformed the cafeteria into a wonderful ballroom, stunning with string lights and beautiful decorations, creating a wonderful way to end 2024’s Homecoming!
