The Tors hosted Barbers Hill on Homecoming Night in a game that turned into a real barn fire that, unfortunately, our heroes fell short at the end of the gridiron contest.
The Tors and Eagles battled back and forth, relentless in their pursuit of victory, taking the game into four overtimes. The Eagles squeaked out a 62-60 win in a magnificently fought contest that someone had to lose. This loss ended the Tors undefeated season dropping us to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in District 9-5A-1 action.
By the end of the last quarter, the teams stood tied at 45-45. The teams combined for an astonishing 36 points in the 4th quarter, sending the game into the first overtime of the season for the Tors.
Both teams started on their opponents 25-yard line in the overtime periods. QB Kyden Barker took things into his hands and scored the first touchdown with a 10-yard keeper. The Eagles came out and quickly tied the game on a 12-yard run.
In the second overtime, the Eagles took possession and scored a touchdown to grab a 60-52 lead after a successful two-point conversion. Ball High had a chance to match the Panthers’ score and RB Arentheis Winn came up big barreling into the endzone. Forced to go for two, the Tors tied the game with a Baker to Jeramon Charles pass.
Both teams came up short trying to put the game away in the third overtime, so the game went into a fourth overtime. The Eagles started off with the ball first and converted on a touchdown pass. The Tors having another chance to match tired a QB draw that came short at the goat line, ending the game 62-60.
The Tors travel to Beaumont to play the West Brook Bruins in hopes to bounce back and not let this loss affect them in the long run
