Ball High adds another athlete to its pantheon of extraordinary football players. Jonah Williams, a five-star recruit and the No. 8 prospect in ESPN 300, ranks as the best outside linebacker in the class of 2025. Williams recently committed to the University of Texas. He chose Texas over Texas A&M, USC, LSU and Oregon.
Williams, a four-sport athlete, dominates on the pitching mound and patrols centerfield on the baseball diamond, which he is expected to play at college as well. Williams also started on the varsity basketball team and raced for the track team, breaking school records along the way.
“It’s 50-50, baseball and football,” he told ESPN. “The opportunities [at Texas] with life after football were part of my choice. The coaching staff really made me feel comfortable about my decision.”
According to ESPN ranking. Williams is Texas’ highest-rated commit since QB Arch Manning from the class of 2023 and their highest-rated linebacker pledge since Jordan Hicks who was the fourth ranked prospect in 2010.
The 6-foot-five, 205-pound linebacker started his senior year hot helping his team to a starting record of 3-0. When Williams reaches campus in 2025, he is expected to begin his career at safety,
