`On October 29th Austin Elementary School welcomed NTHS, National Technical Honors Society, and the BESTT program with open arms as volunteers set up the Annual Fall Festival in the elementary school gym.
The gym had tons of booths varying from face painting to music chairs to scoring hoops in basketball with star players Jonah Williams and Dylan Alford. Different grades and classes filtered throughout the fair so everyone could enjoy the festivities.
Kids could all agree their favorite thing to do was to get their faces painted by the older kids and getting to play with all their friends. The event was set up by Mr. Ed Hendon and Mrs. Cann, and it was an opportunity for Ball High students to get hands-on experience of working with younger kids and grow their expertise, and an opportunity for the youngsters to have fun.
“We reached all the younger students and celebrated the fall season playing games, painting faces and in general just celebrating life,” said Hendon. “We do this twice a year, fall and spring. It’s great to celebrate with students.”
