The Ball High boys’ varsity golf team came in 14th place in the Region III-5A Boys Golf Championships the past two days in Montgomery at The Golf Club of Margaritaville Lake Resort by shooting a team score 743 (377-366). The final season record for the Tors was 110-78.
The top three teams qualified for the State Championship (Lake Creek, Barbers Hill and College Station). The top three players not on those top three teams qualify for State (Raines Watson-A&M Consolidated 142 (74-68); Francisco Munoz-Montgomery-148 (73-75); Corrington Case-Kingwood Park-152 (76-76).
Charlie Kirschner led the Tors by shooting a two-round total of 173 (90-83), which came in 51st place out of a total of 91 players. The rest of the Tors were Dylan Rowe (175-(88-87)-53rd), Aeden Jones (184-(95-89)-72nd), Logan Ashcraft (211-(104-107)-84th) and Price Burnette (214-(107-107)-86th).
Lake Creek won the Region III-5A Boys Golf Team Championship with a two-round total of 594 (295-299). Raines Watson of A&M Consolidated won the Region III-5A Boys Golf Individual Championship with a two-round total of 142 (74-68).
