Like the immortal Phoenix, Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) has raised its ugly head again after being first discovered in 2001 in the Netherlands. HMPV exhibits the same symptoms as a common cold, such as fever, sore throat, runny nose, body aches and headaches.
This virus is not as alarming as the Covid-19 pandemic that killed millions of people around the globe. HMPV is less harmful than COVID-19 in many ways, although they both damage the respiratory system, they both can be transferred to one another by respiratory droplets, close association, and touching any contaminated surfaces.
Washing your hands and cleaning up any dirty spots around your house gets rid of any germs that may be found in the home and work place.
