The Ball High varsity golf team competed in their own Galveston Ball Girls & Boys Valentine’s Day Scramble at Moody Gardens GC, a two-person (girl/boy) scramble competition with 28 teams.
Ball High’s Mackenzie Mielsch and Dylan Rowe won the event and took home the 1st place Champion medals by shooting a score of 69. The rest of the Ball High team was represented by Sara Jolin and Aeden Jones, who came in 7th place with a score of 76.
A team from Katy Seven Lakes (Eva Bozukova/Zachary Jenkins-69 lost in playoff) and Katy St. John XXIII (Tiffany Morgado/Von DeYoung-71) took home the runner-up and third place medals.
The Ball High Lady Tors golf team then took home the 3rd place medals in the Dawson Lady Eagle Scramble at Clear Creek GC in Pearland by shooting a team score of 68. The Lady Tors actually tied for 2nd place but lost the scorecard playoff. There was a total of 26 teams at the golf tournament, and this brings the Lady Tors season record to 49-11.
The Lady Tors were represented by Mackenzie Mielsch, Sara Jolin, Parker Holland, Dolores Salinas, and Aayla Holland. Pearland won the event with a score of 65.
Earlier, the Ball High Lady Tors varsity golf team competed in the Clear Creek Lady Wildcats Spring Invitational at Moody Gardens GC in Galveston. The Lady Tors competed in only the individual competition for the 36-hole event.
Sara Jolin led the Lady Tors by shooting a score of 189 (96-93), which tied for 21st place out of a total of 84 players. Mackenzie Mielsch tied for 32nd place after shooting a score of 195 (95-100).
Margaret Kerr of Clear Springs won the individual title by shooting a score of 142 (71-71) and Clear Springs took home the team title with a score of 669(343-326).
The Ball High girls’ golf team also competed in the Texas City Girls Spring Classic at Bayou Golf Club in Texas City to begin the season. The Lady Tors competed in only the individual competition.
Parker Holland led the Lady Tors by taking home the 2nd Place individual medal by shooting a score of 48. The rest of the Lady Tors were Aayla Holland (55) (personal best) and Dolores Salinas (57).
