As we know, another tragic murder occurred again in this bullet riddled society that we live in today. Right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk, murdered on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, left behind his wife and family. Not everyone agrees with everything he said, but Kirk was still human. No one deserves to die because of their opinions.
Often his opinions raise questions about his beliefs. Many people, me included, believe that he should not speak about women’s rights and their bodies as if men are masters of women. He is not the one being sexually assaulted or having a baby conceived from rape.
While a lot of the things he said seemed negative to me, he only did what he thought right in his own mind. Kirk believed that it was the only way to make this world we live in better. I opposed Charlie Kirk and his beliefs, and I have no interest in standing up for him. In my mind he was a horrible person with misogynistic beliefs that the MAGA crowd idolized.
He spoke disparagingly about the LBGTQ+ community. As a member of this community, I don’t agree with him. What right does Charlie Kirk have to tell me/us how to live our lives? He doesn’t have to like LGBTQ+ people and that’s completely okay, but to sit and say that there is something wrong with us simply because he doesn’t agree with our sexual orientation is in my humble opinion unacceptable.
Kirk also spoke about immigrants, and again I disagreed with his opinions. All immigrants are trying to do is make a living, just like everyone else. I know a man, and I know he’s not from here, but he is one of the most hard-working men I have ever seen, all for his family, because as a man in this world, it’s his ¨job¨ to provide for his family.
I understand Charlie has done many things we don’t all agree on, but he is still human, and he did not deserve to be murdered. His kids shouldn’t have to grow up without their father, and his wife shouldn’t have to live without her husband. We need rational gun control.
