Doctors, surgeons, and physicians need years of education to make $200k – $450k a year, while college football coaches are receiving millions for getting fired! I strongly remember having to work hard for money, not trying to get fired and make millions.
October 26, 2025, after LSU had an embarrassing loss of 49-25 against Texas A&M. LSU coach Brian Kelly was officially fired but promised a $54 million buyout. This doesn’t happen on rare occasions; many other coaches have been fired and receive an immense amount of money. Some more well-known names include Billy Napier, Florida ($21 million), Mike Gundy, Oklahoma state ($15 million), and Sam Pittman, Arkansas ($9.8 million) former A&M former coach Jimbo Fisher received a record amount (77.5 million) to not coach!
This whole “buyout” system basically became a legal scam. Why would I want to become a doctor or surgeon if I can be a multimer millionaire by being a fired coach. I’m 99% sure that Brian Kelly was happier getting fired than he was getting hired to coach.
Many people strongly believe the unidirectional way to make money comes with a hard job. Well heck, why get a difficult job and stick to it for multiple years when being a failure in an instant will make you rich?
