Due to the loss in week 11 of high school ball, La Marque snapped the Tors’ three game win streak. The Tors open district play at home on Jan. 2 against LaPorte but has a 4-8 total record right now. The Tors record might not say it, but they haven’t been doing too bad in these recent weeks. With a 3-1 record in the past four weeks, beating Dobie and Stafford, two competent teams in their last meetings.
A bright side of this team is that they’re big man heavy. Leading the way in points this season, Junior Corieon Sanders is averaging 10 ppg, and Kavion Francis averaging nine ppg while leading the team in field goal percentage.
The Tors have a great defensive team with Preston Kulackoski averaging 2.5 steals per game, Jera’mon Charles and Javian Joseph averaging 1.5 steals per game. Preston Kulackoski averages 1.5 blocks per game and Corien Sanders averaging one block per game
So even though right now the season isn’t going great, the Tors are a fun team to watch and should provide exciting entertainment as the season winds down.
