On Wednesday, February 4th, eleven student athletes walked into the gym at Ball High to sign their Athletic Scholarship Agreement and take their athletic skills to the next level. Athletes Josiah Evans and Zayveon Hubbard conveyed their gratitude to God for being the light that led them and their family for being the push they needed to succeed.
“I am beyond blessed to be in this situation, I just want to thank God, my parents, and my big brother for keeping me in the right lane and teaching me everything I needed to know. Without my brother none of this would be possible, he’s my idol and I always wanted to be just like him I just didn’t know it would bring me this far,” said Evans.
“I just thank God for my situation. It’s nothing but a blessing that I’m at where I’m at right now from being told I wasn’t going to be able to play my senior year to signing a full ride scholarship. My motivation is my family and the fear of letting them down. Being the kid who could have made it but wasn’t determined enough. Doubt is the killer of the mind,” added Hubbard.
Each of these Tors are hard-working students on the field and in the classroom, aiming to achieve new heights as they move on to the next chapter in their life. Congratulations to these students!
