Ball High School students evacuated the first floor facing Ave O due to a gas leak from the construction site of the new Ball High School building. Construction workers on the site accidentally broke a gas line causing the students to flood into the auditorium to avoid being exposed to the gas which can cause health problems.
Principal Joe Pillar addressed the gas situation by putting the campus on a “shelter in place” A shelter in place means that students stay in their class, close all doors and windows and to not leave the class until further instruction. Shortly after the gas was turned off, Ball High resumed their normal schedule.
