Baseball Falls Short of Playoffs

Baseball+Falls+Short+of+Playoffs

The Ball High Boys of Summer hosted the Texas City Stingarees Tuesday night, April 24th, trying to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, but the Tors came out on the short end of the score, 5-1. The loss stopped the Tors from making the UIL baseball playoffs this year.

The Tor seniors and their families were honored before the game.  Seniors honored at their final home game were Adam Ochoa, Norman Jackson, C.J. Holmes and Estaban Vela.

The Tors wound up their season Friday night against the Stingarees in Texas City where the Tors turned into road warriors and knocked Texas City to the bottom of the 18 5-A district while the Tors climbed to 5-7, a game ahead of the Stingaree.

Senior Adam Ochoa led the Tors with two hits, a single and double but was left stranded both times. Jonah Williams drove in two runs with a double and then Cannon Chase doubled to center to knock in the other runs.

Jonah Williams started the game and hurled a complete game one-hitter.

The Tors season comes to and end, but the season was filled with fun and camaraderie and, like in the pros, there’s always next year!
