The Ball High Tors hosted one of the greatest meets in the nation when 84 teams from as far away as California brought 2400 runners to the Island to participate in the annual Galveston Beach Run.
Diego Clark led the Tors with a time of 19:48 followed by Kai Jankowiac with a time of 20:45 and Joaquin Castro at 24:06.
The Ball High team came in 31st with a total of 841 points and a combined time of 2:11:37. Friendswood captured first place with 131 points and a total time of 1:46:20.
This annual cross-country race has evolved into one of the “must be there” cross country meets in the state. Teams from all over Texas, as well as teams from Arkansas and California attended the meet.
The District 18.5A Boys and Girls meet takes place Thursday in La Porte on October 12. The Tor runners are coached by Aaron Deyon and Elyssa Wagner.
The Tors also raced September 15th in the Bulldog Invitations in La Porte, the Freedom Run in Rosharon on Sept. 29th and the October classic in Texas City on the 5th, all in preparation for the District meet coming up Thursday.
